Based on 1,470 reviewsReviews for Anastasio highlight its warm, family-run atmosphere and consistently high-quality Italian cuisine, especially praised for dishes like lasagna, pasta with truffles, and seafood specialties. Patrons frequently appreciate the friendly and attentive service, noting the staff’s welcoming nature and occasional thoughtful gestures such as complimentary desserts. Customers also commend the fair pricing given the excellent food and overall experience. Anastasio is widely recommended for its authentic flavors, efficient service, and charming setting, making it a favored spot for both first-time visitors and returning guests in Rome.
On our first evening in Rome we were having trouble finding a restaurant and saw that there was a reservation available in 20 minutes. In New York City we have reserved with this short notice now and then and it has always worked out fine, but here the reservation system and culture is different for a lot of restaurants and reservations are requested, not confirmed immediately. We were aware of this and went in and even though it was not ideal for the staff, they accommodated us, speaking English and providing English menus based on our limited Italuan. They were very kind, and the service was great despite our awkward reservation timing, and the food was outstanding. They even provided a complimentary dessert for us to share. If you're in the neighborhood and you're looking for solid authentic Roman food in a casual but comfortable atmosphere, Anastasio is a great fit. Just make a reservation first, and ideally with more than 15 minutes notice!
We had a fantastic meal here earlier this week. It was busy outside but they still made room for a table for us. We had a special of spaghetti with tiny little clams (not sure of the name) and a stuffed pasta with truffles. Everything was so tasty. Highly recommend
I recently had dinner at Anastasio, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel relaxed. It’s clearly a family-run place, and that personal touch shows in every detail. I ordered the lasagna, and it was absolutely delicious – rich in flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe of the place was warm without being too formal. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back – not just for the food, but for the whole experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for great homemade-style food.
Why is this coming up as a hotel? This is a fabulous little restaurant— great food, friendly and efficient service, and really fair prices. We found it our first night in Rome and had to return to make sure we weren’t somehow overestimating the experience. Nope it is really good!
Amazing service and great food! I came here with my group of friends while on a trip and received a dessert on the house. The owner and employees are so friendly and welcoming. I'm now back for the second time with my friends again and the food tastes even better than the first.
I can’t recommend this lovely and friendly restaurant enough! The service was excellent! The food was amazing, and at a reasonable price! We got lucky, and have an Appartement that we rented in the neighbourhood. We stumbled upon it as we headed home exhausted from a long day of walking and fell in love, going back many times in our stay. We ate at several other restaurants including one that had a Michelin star and this little place was better! Better service and better food! The lasagna is out of this world, as is the Tiramisu! The salads are also a great addition to any meal, but they are big! We ordered one for three people to share family style with our meals. The simple salad was my favourite. Thank you!
I had lunch at this restaurant recently and really enjoyed my experience. I ordered a pasta dish, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. You can tell they put effort into the quality of their food. The prices were fair, especially considering how good the meal was. The location is easy to find, which makes it convenient, and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a great spot for a tasty and reasonably priced meal. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Looks like the rating is set for a hotel not a pizzeria… The place itself is small and cozy—reminded me of those little bars you peek into while walking by, but don’t usually go in. The pizzas and salad were actually good. I really enjoyed my Messina beer - it reminded me a bit of the American beer called Blue Moon. Service wise…I had mixed feelings. They charged us 2euro/person for service (and next to it says ‘not’ a tip). This is uncommon unless you’re at one of those tourist trap places at the center of a super touristy plaza. But then again, we were near the vatican. The neighborhood is quite dirty (see video). Our waitress was nice, but the man (owner) didn’t seem very interested in helping us or foreigners. I tried to get his attention for a check- he ignored me, the waitress asked him to help grab us our tiramisu while she tended to 5 other tables - he dismissed her, she asked him to help create a check - he made a face of annoyance that he had to deal with us at all. She gave us a free pie which I took it as “sorry for the service - I had no help” hahaha. So, food and our server? Big thumbs up. Service vibe from the owner? Not my favorite.
